To get to the "Best Caves" from Singhampton, Ontario, turn off of route 24. Take the street that goes east across Mad River, then it curves south aprox 200 metres. then east on the 17th sideroad, the south on the 10th concession to 15/16th sideroad. Then east about 100 metres to a small gravel parking lot. From there it is a short hike along a grassy road south about 1 km. It leads directly to freedom rock, looking out from freedom rock, follow the natural rocky stair down from the left. There is an excellent cave on the left side in the opposite rock face. This cave is very deep, but it is tight and dark. Bring 2 flashlights and 2 friends. The footing is slippery all the time.

  Secret Caves

To get to the "Secret Caves" from Glen Huron, Ontario, travel south on 62 to 12/13th sideroad. West about 1 km to concession 10. The trail leads north along the road allowance. The trail is very wet in the spring and fall. Follow trail up, and then across a small stream. Old Beaver-dam to the left. Presently you will come to the marker for keyhole trail. Take the trail to the right another 25 metres. Now turn off the trail go to the right into the woods toward the cliff base there are several open roof caves, with many enclosed side caves in each one. Good luck.   Keyhole Trail

If you still have energy, the keyhole trail is lots of fun. You can reach the Keyhole Trail Caves from the Secret Caves or the Best Caves. Easier to reach from the 15/16 sideroad, unless you are already at the secret caves, in which case you can just follow the keyhole trail.

Follow the grassy road that leads perpendicular to the west from the Best-Caves / Freedom Rock route. This leads to a footpath. Go left, 400 metres ito the keyhole trail. Lots of rocks, Caves and climbiing. Watch your step. It is easy to get turned around in the keyhole trail. Good luck!
