It was a dark and stormy night, and guess where I was. I was at sleepover I didn't even want to be at. The reason is I have a soccer game tomorrow and I won't get any sleep. Tiffany, (the girl who is having the sleepover) has nine pets. She has two dogs, two birds, three cats, one lizard, and one snake. The dogs love to bark. It's like their hobby or something. So right now Tiffany's mom is telling us to go to bed. I put my head on my pillow and tried to go to sleep. I could hear the dogs barking in the room upstairs. I could her the lizard crawling in its cage. I could her a tweet from one of the birds now and then. I knew the cats were there because they kept stepping on my feet. But I couldn't here the snake or feel it. I had no idea where it was. I got up and walked over to the snake's cage. It was to dark to see so I took a flashlight from the table. The light hurt my eyes, but I didn't worry about that because I noticed something about the snake's cage. I wanted to scream but I couldn't move. It was like I was frozen. There was a hole in the cage. I was afraid to move but I didn't want to stay where I was. I jumped up and sat on their living room table. Tiffany. Tiffany. Wake up. Someone just wake up. I whispered practically crying. I waited a long time and no one woke up. So very carefully I walked into their kitchen, because that's where the highest table is. I slept on the table the whole night.
The next morning I woke up to six faces looking at me. Last night came back to me. I..uh...I thought the snake was out. There was a hole in the cage. And the thunder scared me, I explained waving my hands wildly while I was talking. The last part was a lie but that was so I didn't sound stupid.
Tiffany looked confused then her face lit up like a light bulb. She said through giggles that I had looked in the cage of their old snake and the new one was in her room.
We had fun the rest of the morning. Right before I left I saw a snake slither past the couch in the living room.
