May 4, 2002 - Hops have grown substantially.

May 4, 2002 - Lambs ears and yarrow in the back.

May 4, 2002 - Extending the length of the garden to cut down on the mowing. Tried using cardboard as the base layer. Not so much bending, larger pieces, heavier so no need to wet it.

Then my dad piled sheep manure on the cardboard so it wouldn't blow away. It had to be forked over the area.

And now the area is ready for the squash, gourd and pumpkin seedlings that have been started in the house.

Here and there surprises await each walk around the garden

May 15 - White daffodils and a few tulips in bloom.

June 5 - we moved currant and gooseberry bushes from odd locations to the lasagna garden last fall. They are settling in well.
