

The trees are used full length with the smaller diameters used for floor joists and roof
timbers. The saddle notch is primarily used at the corners with the logs hand-scribed directly on top of
each other. This method does not require chinking of any kind.
There are examples of buildings in
Scandinavia still standing after 700 years! The shell consisting of walls with logs not less than 10
inches top diameter would be approximately $35-$50 per square foot.
