Now that the last logs are set in place and the windows are installed, I can step back and observe the
miracle that you have accomplished over the past year or so.
Yes it did take a long time. Probably alot
more hours than you bargained for. We want you to know, though, that from our point of view it was
well worth it. The "finished product" has many aspects that we have already grown to love, from the
early design sessions to the trips to Creemore, from the phone conversations to work out details to the
delight in watching you and Joe work so well together, from the thoughtful changes that were made
along the way to your fairness in dealing with the additional costs, from the complicated yet smooth
logistics of getting the logs from Ontario all the way to our coastal Maine island...all of this not to
mention the majestic beauty and the satisfying aesthetics and fine workmanship of the finished
product.
I'll never forget how difficult it was for us to try and figure out which log home builder to select, but
now that the job is complete there is no doubt in our minds that we made the very best selection,
especially since it was such a complex job. We know you agonized long and hard over the technical
challenges, but dealing with you through it all was always a great delight. You somehow for run that
perfect balance between respecting what we wanted (crazy as it might have seemed) and letting us
know what had to be, based on your experience.
Finally we've had alot of fun with it all. We're glad to have the feeling you did too. We sense you also have taken great pride in what you have created, and we certainly do too.
We look forward very much to continuing our relationship with our new Canadian friends, and can't wait for a visit from you when the rugs are down and the furniture in.
Sincerely,
E.M., New York, New York
