This method uses logs that are flattened on two sides only, either by sawmill, or by hand
with a broadaxe. The corners are half dovetailed with a space between the logs for insulation and
chinking (mortar). Many examples of this type of structure can be found throughout Ontario and
Quebec. For a recreational home with logs 8 inches thick the approximate price would be $25-$35
